Spirit of Youth Football Club

Grant donation provided to local junior football club.

Registered with the Lancashire FA since 1977, Spirit of Youth Football Club aims to provide a footballing family atmosphere for players, friends and family.

Supporting over 200 boys and girls over 15 teams ranging from the ages of 4 to 16 across Blackpool, they offer supportive football to those that want to play, regardless of ability. They want all involved to have fun, make friends and learn to play the game in a safe and progressive environment.

With a thriving youth coaching programme, they encourage participation in the game in other ways. This coaching programme can eventually lead to a level 1 FA Coaching qualification sponsored by the club.

They believe that the club is more than just football though. With a long participation in Blackpool’s football scene, they are now confidently placed in the heart of the town’s community life, serving as a vital social conduit for the players, friends and parents, allowing young children to develop crucial skills that will benefit them later in life.

The grant has been provided on behalf of The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme which will help support the teams with kit and equipment, ensuring their fantastic work continues.
