Recognising sustainable initiatives to cultivate a greener future.
North West In Bloom is one of many regional offshoots of the national Britain In Bloom contests, run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) and funded by various local and national sponsors.
As one of the longest-running environmental campaigns in the UK, North West In Bloom sees a variety of local businesses, councils, and organisations compete for different horticultural awards, such as Best Feature In A Public Place, Best Private Front Garden, & Best New Landscape.
The aim is to encourage local communities and groups to create, cultivate, and conserve green spaces for future generations. The arrangements are often beneficial to their surroundings, helping maintain an attractive environment for residents and visitors alike, whilst also making the North West a greener, more appealing, and more sustainable place to live.
This year, North West In Bloom hosted 3 days of award ceremonies at Bolton Wanderers Football Stadium, with over 1,000 guests in attendance over the course of the ceremonies.
The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme were proud to sponsor two awards for Britain In Bloom North West 2024. We’d like to congratulate Friends Of Newton Community Park, winner of the Glasdon Glass Trophy for the best Sustainable Gardening project, and Stoney Hill Community Wildlife Area, winner of the Conservation and Environmental Glasdon award. A massive well done to the 2024 winners and to all those who participated!
