Glasdon Remains A Caring Corporate

Our Silver membership with Blackpool Carers Centre has been renewed for another year.
By some estimates, 3 in 5 people in the UK will become a carer for a loved one at some point in their lives, often at significant personal cost to themselves. The sacrifices made by carers can range from giving up work or education, losing sleep, becoming socially isolated, and even neglecting their own wellbeing.
That’s why Blackpool Carers Centre was formed, to support unpaid carers of all ages across Blackpool. The independent charity provides a range of services to enhance the lives of these unsung heroes, including advice, counselling, training courses, support groups, and social occasions.
Based out of Beaverbrooks House, Blackpool Carers Centre host regular events designed to give respite to fatigued carers and support them socially. The regular ‘Knit and Natter Group’ meet every week to create outfits for the charity’s mascot, Rocco the Donkey, whereas gardening, choir, and youth club activities all feature on a typical week’s agenda.
As a Caring Corporate member, Glasdon are supportive of carers in the workforce and do our utmost to support them. We offer a comprehensive ‘care package’ healthcare scheme, allowing employees to access a range of health & wellbeing related benefits. Our training platform, GlasdonLearn, also provides a selection of useful seminars covering topics like time management, mental health, and asking for help.
The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme had previously supported Blackpool Carers Centres with a ‘Silver’ Corporate Care Package, and this year, we are thrilled to renew this membership, providing much needed funding for critical community programs and support for local carers.
Out of every £1 raised for Blackpool Carers Centre, 94 pence goes directly to creating better lives for carers. To learn more about the organisation, or to support them via volunteering/fundraising, visit their website.
The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme provides support for charities and community projects with donations, grants and fundraising initiatives. All activities are funded by Glasdon Group Limited, with the full support of our Founder and Chairman, Donald J Sidebottom MBE, FCIHT and the Board of Directors. Applications for grants and support can be made on our grant application page.
