Always committed to playing an active part in supporting charities, Glasdon donate where they can, to causes they are passionate about to help them continue the great work that they do.
LOVEmyBEACH is a campaign, created by the charity Keep Britain Tidy in 2013, working to protect and enhance the local coastal environment by helping to keep our local beaches and seas clean.
During 2019, 14 beach clean groups along the Fylde Coast ran an impressive 360 beach cleans, estimating that over 8,700 bags of litter were removed from our coastline.
There are over 200 regular volunteers for LOVEmyBEACH who donated over 5000 volunteering hours last year.
Glasdon wanted to donate to LOVEmyBEACH in recognition of the amazing work that they do cleaning up coastlines so that we can all enjoy beaches safely and free from litter.
The Glasdon Charitable Giving Committee made a donation for volunteers to use towards Christmas meals for their beach cleaning groups. The donation was proudly used to support Fairhaven, St Annes North, Freckleton, Bispham and Harbour Village beach clean groups meals.
Glasdon also supports the Rossall Beach group and the Friends of the Estuary, Lytham.
Emily Parr, Fylde Beach Care Officer for LOVEmyBEACH said:
The volunteers booked meals at various local restaurants and cafes to celebrate. Your generous donation has enabled eight different beach clean groups and over 100 volunteers to celebrate Christmas together!
On behalf of LOVEmyBEACH, Keep Britain Tidy and all the Fylde Coast beach cleaners, thank you very much again for your donation.
New members are welcome to join. If you would like to volunteer in any upcoming beach clean events, take a look where to get involved here: https://lovemybeach.org/beach-clean-volunteering/
