- D.J. Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme
- 17 Dec 2021
Over the last few weeks, Glasdon employees have been submitting their nominations for the charity they would like to receive a generous donation from The D J Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme.
Following an overwhelming number of individual nominations we are pleased to announce that CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) have been chosen as the Glasdon Employee Charity of the Year for 2020/21.
CRY will now receive £10,000 to fund two cardiac screening days for young people aged 14-35.
CRY have been working since 1995, to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). Focused on prevention through awareness, screening and research, CRY also support young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and families affected by YSCD.
Cardiac screening can help prevent young sudden cardiac deaths and CRY offers subsidised ECG and Echocardiogram screening across the UK to all young people between the ages of 14 and 35.
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is used to identify conditions such as heart muscles disorders or electrical faults of the heart. For extra clarity an Echocardiogram can also be done.
