Elmer's Big Parade Blackpool

Preparing for a stampede of Elmers in Blackpool

Created by David McKee in 1989, Elmer remains one of the most iconic, beloved, and widely read children’s book series of all time. Now, Andersen Press and Wild in Art have joined forces with UK charities, including Brian House Children’s Hospice, to organise public art trails featuring specially designed sculptures of Elmer. We’re proud to say that Glasdon have joined the herd!

The giant sculptures, crafted by both renowned and up-and-coming artists from the region, reflect the cultural abundance and creative aptitude within every corner of the UK. Accompanying these larger pieces will be a herd of smaller Elmers, each decorated by local school children and youth organisations.

And the Herd is Arriving in Blackpool...

From Saturday 13th April until Sunday 9th June 2024, in support of Brian House Children’s Hospice, Blackpool will be fortunate enough to enjoy a visit from Elmer, where 31 unique sculptures and 37 young Elmers will adorn the Fylde coast. The sculptures will be placed around key landmarks, streets and open spaces in Blackpool; creating an art trail through the town that will be enjoyed by visitors and locals for eight weeks in the spring.

Using a brand-new Elmer trail mobile app, all trail participants will be able to track themselves along the trail, record each Elmer they find, and receive rewards along the way! We’re really excited to announce that our beautifully designed Glasdon Elmer will also be featured in the trail for all to see!
