Midgeland Riding School

Helping to change lives through the love of horse riding.

Midgeland Riding School, located in Blackpool, is an approved riding school and livery centre that provides experienced instruction in horseback riding and livery services for horse owners.

As a component of their services, they run a programme accredited by the British Horse Society, titled: ‘Changing Lives Through Horses’, which serves as an alternative education option for young people categorised as 'NEET' (not in education, employment or training).

Enrolled on the programme is a participant from a local care facility who completed a six-week course in the summer of 2023, made possible by Sport England's Together Fund. The aspiring equestrian has shown outstanding involvement throughout the duration of their course, displaying great passion, enthusiasm and determination. Despite their desire to continue with the programme, a shortage of traditional funding availability put doubts over whether they could continue with their training. Thankfully, we were able to help.

The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme has committed to providing a donation that will allow this young individual to continue participating in the programme and advancing their skills in horse riding.
